Crisis in Anglophone Cameroon: Foundation Radio Building in Bamenda Hit
July 25, 2019

BAMENDA 25 JULY 2O19: No one can explain why three armoured vehicles deployed to the Mile 6 Ngomgham neighborhood of Bamenda, North West Region Cameroon, yesterday Wednesday 24 July, 2O19.One of the armored cars stationed itself right at the entrance into the Foundation Radio premises, the second at the Mile 6 junction on the Bamenda - Bafut road, and the third drove around the quarter, firing shoots randomly and indiscriminately in quick succession.

Foundation Radio had its share as bullets got into the upper floor of the structure that is also head office of The Fomunyoh Foundation (TFF). Thank goodness none of the staffers present were injured as they took to safety lying on the floor downstairs. A storekeeper in the neighborhood was picked up for reasons we could not immediately verify. The military forces later moved to the Nchoubou neighborhood around Sacred Heart College Mankon.

When calm returned to the vicinity, dwellers hurried back into the quarter and their homes for safety. All businesses however remained closed.

Yesterday's incident reaffirms the general feeling that populations of the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon may be living on bonus life. W€, once again, appeal to all stakeholders involved in the crisis to fast track any peace process and spare the populations of these Regions the troubles they are currently going through. The killings and atrocities are taking a heavy toll on us all.
